Come to the Vineyard and help Harvest the Lord's Crop Together (next week Aug 30 2023)

Updated: Aug 25, 2023

Dear Vineyard Family, I am asking for your faith and prayers as part of your fasting for 3 major items:

  1. The vines can increase the amount of sugar in the berries (as we are still at least two weeks behind schedule).

  2. For protection from rain during the open tray drying phase of harvest.

  3. A change of heart of those in charge of policies concerning canal water. To be willing to allocate canal water to us in the off season for us to fill a recharge basin so that we can farm our ground without extreme penalties.

Here is the CALENDAR of VINEYARD ACTIVITIES:

(Note: Ours is PICKING and goes from Wed Aug 30 - Sat Sep 2. Then we return to BOX on Wed Sept 27)

AUGUST 19, 2023 UPDATE:

Jamie asked me to pass on his message below for each of you to pass on to the wards in your individual stakes:

Gary, could you please get this message to the 8 Stakes for next Fast Sunday (even though the sugar levels would already have been formed by next Fast Sunday- and half the Vineyard will already have been picked, at least half the sugar levels could be increased.)

A change of heart of those in charge of policies concerning canal water. To be willing to allocate canal water to us in the off season for us to fill a recharge basin so that we can farm our ground without extreme penalties. Penalties so heavy that it would make it improbable for us to farm our own ground. (We are not asking for irrigation water during the growing season - which is their main concern. But rather for delivery of water from late fall to early spring when they are flushing water out to the ocean.) we just want to fill our ponding basin with off season canal water to recharge the groundwater levels as mandated by the State, not utilizing irrigation water during the growing season –

Thanks you for your faithful service in the Lord’s Vineyard….Gary Davis – Welfare Farm Committee Chairman
