Lotta Good Lessons

These past few weeks have been wild. A lot of good lessons.

Mr. Wang My friend Mr. Wang is awesome. He's very faithful. We set up a baptismal date for him (for late December) We believe he will be baptized before then. His only concern though is tithing, but I've seen the power of tithing and that God really does promise us the promise in the book of Malachi:

Malachi 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

I have a pretty firm testimony of tithing cause I know that if you put your trust in Jesus Christ that you really have no need to fear. Pray for Mr. Wang, he's amazing.

Chilton

As we were street contacting a few weeks back we ran into a Chinese guy who recently moved from China to Montréal. We talked a little about the Restoration and that we have a living Prophet today! We got his number and just a few days ago we had a wonderful lesson with him. We went over the first lesson with him and showed him pictures of Jesus Christ giving his apostles the Priesthood. And then we showed pictures of Joseph Smith receiving the Priesthood from the same Apostles.

I asked him if any of this made sense or if he undertood what we were saying and he replies, "yes, you said it all very clear." I think in our next lesson we will invite him to be baptized, he's pretty elect.

Mr. Ren This one was pretty cool. We went to an old friends house from our area book. We knocked on the door and no one answered.

I was about to leave but Elder Byerly wanted to leave a note. We sat on the stairs and a minute later the door opened. We introduced ourselves and got his phone number.

The thing was, it wasn't the guy we were looking for. This Guy (Mr. Ren) recently moved in. A few days later we taught him the first lesson over the phone and he was excited the whole time. Next week we went over to his house and taught him a little about the Plan of Salvation. We met with him again and taught him how to say a prayer.

The cool part was when he told us that he had a dream after we left from our first visit. He dreamed that he joined a tribe of some sort, and that he felt that this tribe was our tribe. Sometimes I wonder if he really did dream about that, but all I know is that's pretty cool. We're still working with him though, hopefully he will progress more. Because I haven't written a weekly for so long there's so much to talk about! But Ima end it there. Peace —Elder Johnson
