The Sierra Foothills Chapter of the
National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR)
will hold a genealogy research day on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, from 10 am to 1 pm at the Family History Center located at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 49967 Road 427 in Oakhurst, CA. DAR is an apolitical lineage and service group. Any woman 18 years or older who can prove lineal, bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence is eligible to join the DAR. Bring what you know about your heritage and we will help you get started on your application for membership.
Some of you are working on supplemental papers, and some of you may have not been actively researching your patriot ancestor recently. Our chapter registrar Nancy Wider may have already extended an invitation to this "Paper Party", but please see this is as an invitation to reenergize your desire to become a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, to help serve our community and our U.S. military veterans. Jamie Mayhew our chapter first vice regent and I will be there to help you with your research.
Come and see us at the Family History Center at the Church on Road 437 in Oakhurst, CA on August 10, 2022 between the hours of 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. We are very excited to help you in your search for your ancestors. and for some of you, to participate in your journey to DAR membership.
