Resource Pages of
the Yosemite Ward
Being a member of the Yosemite Ward offers tremendous group resources to the individual and to the family: Self-Reliance training and support, Preparedness, Gardening and Homesteading Specialists, Service opportunities, Education and Employment Specialists, Emotional Health Specialists, and Immediate Needs support to our members.
We accomplish this through Bishopric working with the Ward Council to coordinate and administer it through Ministering, The Law of the Fast, ad other Church Resources.
PREPAREDNESS: Emergency Preparation
Disaster can strike quickly and without warning. It can force you to evacuate your neighborhood or confine you to your home. What would you do if basic services - water, gas, electricity or telephones - were cut off? Local officials and relief workers will be on the scene after a disaster, but they cannot reach everyone right away.
Families can - and do - cope with disaster by preparing in advance and working together as a team. Follow the steps listed in this brochure to create your family's disaster plan. Knowing what to do is your best protection and your responsibility.
Where will your family be when disaster strikes? They could be anywhere - at work, at school or in the car.
How will you find each other? Will you know if your children are safe?
(thanks to Bro. Chris Frisbee, Ward Self Reliance Group Facilitator for preparing this)
Addictions in today's world come in all forms. Yosemite Ward has great resources in place to help overcome
EMOTIONAL HEALTH: Addiction Recovery
If you are struggling with addiction or a problematic behavior, you may feel trapped and fear that you will never be free. You can discover support and hope by attending a recovery support group meeting.
Recovery support groups sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints can help anyone struggling with an addiction or compulsive behavior. Yosemite Ward Classes on Fridays and Tuesdays at 7:00 pm at the building. Check with Mark or Sunni Bitter for scheduling

PREPAREDNESS: Gardening and Homesteading
Learn from experts in Gardening from the Yosemite Ward. These pages are summaries of the techniques and success stories of The Holladays in our ward, who have created abundance of crop in their gardens each year, but also know the methods to protect and maximize crop at the least impact to cost and the environment.
How to Become
Self-Reliant, even as a family... Yosemite Ward can help you get back on the self-reliant path.
At times, food and other life-sustaining resources may not be readily available to members. This can happen due to product shortages, loss of income, or other factors. see WELFARE AND SELF-RELIANCE PRODUCTS AND SERVICES
SELF RELIANCE PLANS
When Church members are struggling with self- reliance, it’s important for leaders to understand the challenges faced. Download a PLAN FORM here. The form helps members assess their needs, income, and expenses; identify available resources; identify service they can give in return for assistance received; and develop their own plan for becoming more self-reliant.
