If you’re interested in acquiring your ham radio or technicians license to transmit on frequencies specific to those licensed with the FCC, then you came to the right place. We are getting free instruction from Steve Knight, who is part of the mountain amateur radio club in the area. This is a valuable resource to communicate with family and loved ones in the event that all other forms of communications have failed. It’s not perfect but it’s definitely a cool option for communicating via Ham Radio. So the plan for future instruction and test dates are as follows: -We will have an instruction day which will take most of the day -We will also have a second instruction day and immediately following we will take the test the same day… this too will take most of the day. We need the following input from you: -Please text me at 559-580-0538 that you are interested in the class and give me an idea of which Saturdays for the month of April 2023 and possibly May 2023 will work. I apologize in advance if it doesn’t work for everybody, but I’m trying to accommodate. FCC registration site: you will need to Go to the FCC registration site to acquire your FRN number you’ll need an active email FCC Registration - Login apps.fcc.gov Study manual: the study manual is required, and can be purchased on Amazon. You will need to bring it to class. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/1625951 Test Day: you will need to bring $15 in cash and photo ID the day of testing and presented before taking the test. Final thoughts: this publication will not expire. We will always have classes available as the need permits but in the meantime, her trying to get those interested to come to a class the spring 2023. See you there! Best regards, Chris Frisbie K6CWF Yosemite Ward Fresno West Stake emergency preparedness and communication C 559-580-0538

Hello Yosemite Ward Family, As we’ve undergone the past several weeks with power outages, here’s a short video on options to safely connect a generator to your home. https://youtu.be/CKwBBesUKA8 Regarding what generator product to use is up to your research and homework and budget. I personally use Firman products which I purchased at Costco and it works great. Some people like the champion products. please note! This email is not intended to push a product, just to pass the information along to help. Please reach out if you have any questions. Be safe, be prepared…until we meet again! Hello everybody it’s your emergency preparedness and self-reliance coordinator reaching out to everybody😊 Check out this CPR class we had with the youth at the Millar Ranch recently… It was a good group and the youth learned a lot about CPR. They could help save lives if they’re called to perform CPR! You have the opportunity to join us in a First Aid, CPR and AED certification class. It will be held once we get 25 people to sign up… Place and time to be determined based on attendance. It is a 2 1/2 hour course at $65 per person and well worth it. You should know that if you are a school teacher, first responder or applying for a job that requires a certification… This is where Neil and Linda Cuthbert with Mountian Medical info@mountainmedical.org http://mountainmedical.org/class-info/ can assist you with receiving your certification… Keep in mind that each of us should be aware on how to perform these life-saving skills. Also, if you’re looking to become a babysitter for a family, this certification is important to have! Please note: just so everybody knows…This is just a resource to become certified. Neil and Linda cuthbert with Mountian Medical came out free of charge to support our youth and teach them about CPR and we thank them for their kind service. Please reach out to me via email chrisfrisbie@icloud.com or text (559) 580-0538 so I can put you on the list. Again, we can only take up to 25 people at a time. Thanks for your interest. Can’t wait to hear from you!
